Web-Based E-Mail ClientThis e-mail application is a system that provides users with an interface to their own e-mail account from any web browser anywhere in the world. It works with any POP e-mail account (typically the kind set up by dial-up Internet Service Providers) and allows the user to send and receive messages and attachments directly from their web browser. It differs from services like HotMail and RocketMail in that no new proprietary account is required. The SocialNetWeb email application simply works with your existing e-mail account. For added security, it also features "NO CACHE" technology that keeps your browser from "caching" the contents of your messages to the local hard drive of the computer you are using. Since this application is designed to work with POP e-mail accounts, it WILL NOT WORK with proprietary mail systems such as AOL and "contained" messaging systems like Lotus Notes. Nor will it work with HotMail or other web-based e-mail systems. To use this system, simply enter in the information provided to you by your ISP: username, password, and mail server name. The mail server name is the POP server that your system uses to store your e-mail. You generally have to enter that information into your stand-alone e-mail client when you set up your account with your ISP. It usually follows a syntax like "pop.mis.net" or "pop.iglou.com". If you don't know your server name, simply contact your ISP for assistance. For more information, or to request assistance, please contact the postmaster@socialnetweb.com.
